Position Overview

The incumbent is responsible for the achievement of the team’s operational targets and is required to supervise and guide staff in executing the established work processes within its job scope.

The incumbent is required to review the existing work processes regularly and recommend improvements to enhance work efficiency and increase team’s productivity.

The incumbent is required to support the Regional Centre (RC) Manager in the operations management of the Regional Centre which include the service level monitoring, action planning and reporting, operating cost containment projects, business continuity management, risk management and compliance, human resource planning and management, training and development planning, customer relationship management, and vendor management.

The incumbent will supervise, guide and provide coaching to junior staff, as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

 Oversee the efficiency of operations workflow:
• Counter
• Sorting
• ITRANs scanning
• Data Entry
• Balancing & transmission
• Payee name matching
• End Of Day reconciliation
• Transmission of Credit Posting file
• Inward Clearing downloading of cheques’ data and images
• Transmission of outward returns, processing and transmission of manual outward returns, direct/exception/late exception returns
• Special functions including processing of Image Return Document (IRD), direct mark and eVouchers
 Lead teams to carry out the daily processes in a timely manner and ensure accuracy to meet the service levels
 Oversee the transmission of cheques to the Singapore Automated Clearing House (SACH) and the crediting posting files to the Banks within the respective cut-off time

 Coach and counsel staff to enhance job knowledge and prevent errors
 Conduct team briefing/meeting to share information/ update changes for any work processes
 Escalate any technical or operational problems in the work processes
 Manage incidents raised via SBiTS, from start till incident closure
 Raise Change Request and conduct User Acceptance Test (UAT) and monitor new changes in productions
 Coordinate the teams’ Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities, e.g. training, testing, BCP test scheduling, documentation, etc
 Update and manage documents including operational procedures, DIBs, etc.
 Handle internal/external auditing
 Collate the statistics for billing
Job Requirements

 Diploma in Banking & Finance or equivalent with minimum 3 years of working experience in the branch operations of a bank
 Supervisory experience in banking operations particularly in the cheque clearing preferred

Knowledge and Skills
 Skills in managing and motivating teams and analytical skills in problem resolution
 Knowledge in MS Office would be an advantage
 Proficient in construction of test plans, test cases, execution of test cases and reporting test results

 Ability to work independently
 A team player who is able to motivate fellow team mates
 Ability to withstand work pressures in an environment with high demand of accuracy and timelines
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Experience in conducting customer’s presentation and staff training/ briefing
 Experience in leading a team
 Demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills
 High regards for confidentiality and integrity of all confidential information
